Preschool Director/Teacher
In 1997 Augustana set out to establish a preschool as an out reach to the local community. Jennifer was selected to be the first Director/Teacher of the school and has remained the only one to date. In accordance with the preschool program that offers parents a choice of full or half day sessions; two, three, or five days per week, Jennifer developed, implemented, and continually updates an educational/socialization curriculum. This curriculum is designed to serve blended groups of two, three, and four year old children, many of whom are just starting out using English as their everyday language.
Jennifer possesses New York State certification for elementary school teaching. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in elementary education (specializing in early childhood) from Saint Johns University. Jennifer is a confirmed member of Augustana, graduated from Queens Lutheran School and Martin Luther High School, and currently serves on the Augustana Church Altar Guild.
